In Paris We’re Sightseeing, You Do The Same

Saturday, September 30th, 2006

Ray-Davey-Mike.jpgYes, we spent the day at the Louvre, having lunch at the Ritz hotel with a Russian journalist and then the three of us walked up the Eiffel Tower just to get a good look at the city we’ve found ourselves in. And guess what? The Frenchies have built a pretty nice place here. So now we’re sitting here in an internet cafe spending some time drinking in Paris in a whole different way. While we’re doing that, be sure to check out the new digs we’ve got here. Spend some time getting acquainted with our new hot hatch. If you’ve got problems with anything — or if things look funky and you’re not halfway into a case of absinthe, first, clear your cache, then let us know with an e-mail to tips @ jalopnik.com. We’re going to continue to drink in Paris before we depart in the morning. Au revoir!

Parkour Your Fanny Right Here: GM Presents The New Opel Antara

Friday, September 29th, 2006

Parkour’s a distinctly french form of exercise — madly running from one point to another, flying across rooftops, jumping over and into dumpsters, splashing through mud puddles — all just to prove you can. Come to think of it, that type of blind get ‘er done je ne sais pas is what makes GM the General, ain’t it? Must explain why they’ve used it to sell the unveiling of Saturn Opel’s new hotness yesterday — the Opel Antara CUV. Yes, it’s hot, and yes, that’ll be a Saturn before you know it, like the Aura and Sky before it. But you know what, we’re ok with that as long as it looks like this.
